Wikisage, de vrije encyclopedie van de tweede generatie, is digitaal erfgoed
Wikisage is op 1 na de grootste internet-encyclopedie in het Nederlands. Iedereen kan de hier verzamelde kennis gratis gebruiken, zonder storende advertenties. De Koninklijke Bibliotheek van Nederland heeft Wikisage in 2018 aangemerkt als digitaal erfgoed.

Dit bestand zit in het publiek domein omdat het gemaakt is door de NASA. In de copyrightverklaring van de NASA staat dat "NASA-materiaal niet beschermd wordt door copyright tenzij anders vermeld". (NASA copyright policy page of JPL Image Use Policy).
- Op het gebruik van de NASA's logo's (onder meer het huidige "gehaktbal"-logo, het vroegere "worm"-logo en het zegel) zijn voorwaarden van toepassing. Deze zitten niet in het publieke domein.
- Op de NASA-site staan een hele hoop afbeeldingen van het Soviet/Russisch ruimteagentschap, en andere niet-Amerikaanse ruimteagentschappen. Deze zitten niet in het publieke domein.
- Materiaal van de Hubble Space Telescope is mogelijk beschermd door copyright als ze niet expliciet vermeld worden bij het STScI. (hubble website)
- Al het materiaal dat gemaakt is door de SOHO (ESA & NASA) is beschermd door copyright en vereist toestemming voor commercieel niet-educatief gebruik. (link)
- Afbeeldingen op de Astronomy Picture of the Day-site (APOD) zijn mogelijk beschermd door copyright.

- Use of NASA logos, insignia and emblems are restricted per US law 14 CFR 1221.
- The NASA website hosts a large number of images from the Soviet/Russian space agency, and other non-American space agencies. These are not necessarily in the public domain.
