De presidentiële campagne van Cory Booker werd op vrijdag 1 februari 2019 aangekondigd voor de verkiezingen van 2020.[1][2] Hij heeft de papieren officieel ingediend.[3] Naast Engels, beantwoordt hij ook vragen in het Spaans.[4] Booker was al gerangschikt als een van de topkandidaten voor het Amerikaanse voorzitterschap door de Democratische Partij.[5] Als hij wordt gekozen, zal hij een zeldzame bachelor-president zijn omdat alle presidenten sinds 1886 zijn getrouwd.[6][7] Hij ondersteunt legalisatie van marihuana.[8]

Begin februari, analisten vergelijken hun kansen op succes met de andere Bs, dit is Bernie, Beto en Biden.[9][10] Bernie gaat de presidentiële race in op 19 februari 2019.[11] Op de 65e verjaardag van Bloedige Zondag (3 maart 2019), hadden Clinton en Bernie een hand geven. Clinton en Booker hadden een knuffel.[12][13]

Booker grapte over het inhuren van twee honden als nieuwe campagneden,[19] en ook over de niet-bestaande 'Zwitserse taal'.[20] Na het spelen van Pac-Man maakte hij grapjes over een "oude hoge score".[21]
