Dante's Inferno Belgium
Dante's Inferno Belgium is a Belgian Band that formed in the region of Aalst in the early 90's.
Against the spirit of the time, the band made an unconventional mix of ethereal new-wave, sharp post-punk and dark folk. The group sound was influenced by Joy Divison and The Cure, but also by the poetry of Leonard Cohen, Slowdive and Dead Can Dance. After recording a demo under surveillance of Twin Focus/ Guy Rooms the band played a lot of concerts in the alternative scene of those days. At live concerts, except from the known rock-instruments, a flute, an iron barrel and bells were sometimes added on stage The group made it a habit of wrapping the entire stage and audience in a thick fog
