Joost Platje

Johannes Casparus (Joost) Platje (Oosthuizen, 11 juli 1968) is een Nederlands hoogleraar en econoom. Hij is thans (2008) wonende in Opole, Polen.

Platje is geboren in Oosthuizen, gemeente Zeevang. Hij studeerde Economie aan de Rijks Universiteit Groningen van 1985 tot 1993. Naast zijn studie was hij bestuurslid van de Groninger Studentenbond en Schaakvereniging De Spassky's.

Na zijn afstuderen ging hij, in het kader van een uitwisselingsprogramma, werken aan de Universiteit van Wroclaw. Aanvankelijk als universitair medewerker/onderzoeker maar spoedig als universitair docent. In 1998 werd hij benoemd aan de Universiteit van Opole benoemd als onderzoeker en universitair docent.

In 2004 is hij gepromoveerd op een proefschrift over de transformatie van de Poolse economie in de periode 1970 - 2000 (Institutional change and Poland's economic performance since the 1970s -incentives and transaction costs)

Sinds eind 2004 is hij aan de Economische Faculteit van Opole professor op het vakgebied Nieuw Institutionele Economie en zijn toepassingen op duurzame ontwikkeling. Tevens is hij medewerker en docent aan de Internationale Hogeschool voor Logistiek en Transport te Wroclaw en redacteur van Economic and Environmental Studies

Platje heeft ruim veertig verschillende artikelen op economisch gebied gepubliceerd, zie bijvoorbeeld en , zowel in het Engels als in het Pools. Verder heeft hij verschillende internationale conferenties georganiseerd en geeft hij gastcolleges in binnen en buitenland.
