Zij hadden een tweede zoon, met dezelfde naam als zijn vader, Matthew George Easton (1856–1920), en een dochter, Mary Lang Easton.

Matthew George Easton (Nethanfoot, Lanarkshire, Schotland,[1] 3 juni 1823[2][3] – Darvel, East Ayrshire, Schotland, 27 februari 1894) was een Schots predikant en schrijver.

Leven

Hij studeerde aan de Universiteit van Glasgow,[4] behaalde zijn M.A. (Master of Arts) in 1843 en doctoreerde in 1874 in de theologie (D.D.; Doctor of Divinity) met zijn biografie van Krummacher.[4][5] Hij werd voorganger van de gereformeerde presbyteriaanse kerk van Schotland in Girvan.

Hij trouwde in 1849 met Anne Dobbie (1827–1904). In het gezin werden zes kinderen geboren: David (1850),[6] Isabella Colts (1852),[7] Lockhart Dobbie (1854),[8] Matthew George (1856), [9] Thomas (1859)[10] en Mary Lang (1862)[11]
